We are a retirement and nursing home with 59 beds (private foundation) in a central location in Pratteln.

Who are we for?

We are committed to helping the elderly and those in need of care from Pratteln and the surrounding area. We help to break down inhibitions and prejudices towards old age, nursing and care facilities.

What we offer?

We enable our residents to spend their stay in a familiar atmosphere characterized by security and respect. To this end, we are guided by the ethical guidelines of CuraViva.

How we provide our services?

We manage the Nägelin Foundation Retirement and Nursing Home ecologically and economically in the service of the residents, while ensuring political, denominational and economic independence.

We accept people with their personality and support them in a holistic sense. In doing so, we act individually wherever possible and take unusual paths where necessary. We are committed to the safety of all persons in the home.

What do we understand by quality?

We offer services of a high professional quality and, as far as possible, always align them with the latest findings. The opinions of residents, relatives and partners are important to us. Targeted further education and training serves the operational development and to ensure and expand the quality.

Our basic attitude is respect for life, dignity and fundamental human rights. It is exercised regardless of origin, gender, faith and social status.

Our nursing and care is based on a holistic approach that focuses on achieving quality of life for residents. In doing so, we are aware that quality of life is defined individually for each person.

We care for and look after the residents in the Nägelin Foundation around the clock according to a care and nursing requirement that corresponds to their age, limitations and needs. We do this in an appreciative and competent manner, but above all with respect for self-determination. Whenever possible, we take into consideration cherished habits and rituals. Taking into account our own resources, we are also prepared to take unconventional paths when it comes to meeting the needs of our residents. In doing so, we continuously incorporate the latest gerontological and geriatric findings.

Good cooperation with relatives, family doctors, external clients and institutions is important to us. We treat our counterparts with a non-judgmental attitude and maintain open and transparent communication.

Relief and vacation beds

Our two respite/holiday beds are designed to provide temporary relief for family caregivers. For the persons concerned, such a stay can mean a welcome change.

They can also be used for rehabilitation between a hospital stay and the return home, or as a bridge while waiting for a nursing place in another institution.

Incidentally, seniors who live at home and are supported by Spitex also have the opportunity to recuperate with us for a few days or weeks.

Both rooms are fully furnished and equipped with telephone and television.
