Assieme Sagl (Paradiso)

Since 2010 ASSIEME Sagl has been a Home Care and Assistance (Spitex) service intended for any person who temporarily or permanently needs support as a result of:

• illness
• accident
• disability
• old age
• socio-familial difficulties

ASSIEME Sagl examines the requests for services, assesses the need and priority of the intervention and defines in agreement with the user a plan for taking care: optics that allow the dependent person to be able to remain as long as possible at home, receiving help to organize and make the best use of their resources.

ASSIEME Sagl analyzes the patient's needs in depth with the help of the RAI-Home-Care computer program as recommended by the Department of Health.

ASSIEMA Sagl operates throughout the Lugano and Mendrisiotto areas.

OUR MISSION Home care and nursing is a service provided directly in the patients' homes whose main mission is to develop the individual and collective potentials of those who apply for intervention, in order to make and keep these people as independent as possible from inpatient social-health facilities (for short or long periods).
Home care and nursing services promote, maintain and/or restore the individual's bio-psycho-social health status aiming at maximum recovery and maintenance of physical autonomy.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF CARE Care is delivered according to the principles of individual rights:

• every person has the right to scientifically recognized health care services
• services must be appropriate to the need for care while respecting the principles of freedom, dignity and integrity of the human person and taking into account the criterion of health effectiveness and the principle of cost-effectiveness.

THE SERVICES Care services are provided as nursing interventions tending to bring prevention, relief and healing to the suffering person; as well as domestic help services.
Care is defined as basic care and medical-therapeutic care.

USER. We dispense our benefits to any person in need of home care and assistance over 16 (sixteen) years of age; not psychiatric patients.

THE GUARANTEE We guarantee the patient's right to be informed about any kind of treatment that affects his or her person. In individuals incapable of discernment, this right will be given to their legal representative, failing that, to the person closest to and caring for them.

Basic care is that care that ensures vital functions and gives rise to a set of activities that enable the continuity of life and includes in particular:

• complete hygiene in bed
• partial hygiene in bed or at the sink
• complete hygiene in the bath or shower
• hygiene of the orifices of the face
• hygiene of genitals and sacrum
• frictions, massages for prevention of pressure ulcers
• hair washing
• manicures and pedicures
• dressing or undressing
• bed-making both empty and occupied
• oral hydration
• feeding with full help
• feeding with partial help
• bedpan use
• parrot use
• manual emptying of the rectum
• use of protective equipment
• mobilization
• positioning and comfort in bed
• mobilizing outside or inside the bed
• raising and assisting during ambulation
• passive and/or active mobilization exercises
• accompanying and assisting in outside ambulation
• bandaging of limbs
• application of cold dispensers
• Medical-therapeutic care is the technical health care services that are applied with the aim of curing a disease or limiting its damage and includes in particular:
• breathing (inhalation, administration of oxygen, aspiration of secretions,...)
• guided feeding by gavage, hydration, teaching and testing of diets
• elimination (evacuation, enemas, washing, laying of probes and bladder catheters,...)
• limb bandages (elastic stockings, compression bandages,...)
• assistance with mobilization
• therapeutic care (intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous injections, blood glucose control, anticoagulation, infusions, transfusions, withdrawals, preparation and administration of medicines according to medical prescriptions,...)
• specialized care (e.g. in the field of oncology)
• dressings (of wounds, ulcers, ostomies,...) and management of medical supplies
• nursing activities for diagnostic investigations (checking vital parameters, blood pressure, pulse,...)
• pedicures and manicures in special cases (e.g., for patients with diabetes)
• supervision and instruction of the user and family members for special care
• accompaniment outside the home
• accompaniment of terminally ill patients
• Home Economics
• Supply of Day/Night Coverage Caregivers
• We also take over some of the home economics activities that the user is partially or totally unable to do.
• Cleaning
• Tidying up
• Assistance and accompaniment for shopping, medical appointments
• Laundry, ironing and mending
• Meal preparations.

As well as accompanying and supportive services such as helping with the organization of daily life, encouraging social contacts, and helping with the paperwork of a household.

These benefits, which are always subsidiary to the personal and family resources the user can rely on, are billed directly to the user, according to an hourly rate, calculated on the basis of taxable income. Those who benefit from supplementary insurance, in some cases, receive a share.

• TRAINING AND CONTINUING EDUCATION Assieme Sagl draws for its training and continuing education program from the wide range offered annually by the ASI (Swiss Nurses and Nurses Association) while for staff in training it will follow it at existing health schools in the canton.

Our nursing services are provided by graduate staff complying with the provisions of the LaMal Act.
