**Foundation Blumenrain

The Blumenrain Foundation operates the nursing home in Therwil and the nursing home in Ettingen on behalf of the sponsoring municipalities of Therwil, Ettingen and Biel-Benken, as well as the Flühbach nursing home in Flüh under a performance contract. The inpatient area of the Blumenrain Foundation comprises a total of 159 beds.

Furthermore, the foundation is responsible for the provision of Spitex services in the three sponsoring municipalities as well as in the municipalities of the Leimen Valley in Solothurn. The catchment area of the outpatient sector comprises approximately 26,000 inhabitants. In 2014, around 38,000 hours of billable Spitex services were provided, 78 percent of which are KLV services.

The opening of a senior day care center was realized in cooperation with the municipalities of Bottmingen and Oberwil. The Leimental senior day care center was opened in 2011 in Therwil and offers day care for a maximum of 12 senior citizens.

The foundation board as the highest management body currently consists of eight people who act as a link to the commissioning municipalities. Directly subordinate to the foundation board is the managing director who, together with the executive board and the various department heads, forms the overall management team. The full-time equivalent of the foundation is 190 positions. Of the total of 280 employees, 15 are in training.

The close cooperation between homes, care apartments, Spitex and senior day care center guarantees a comprehensive and coordinated offer for the various needs for care and support. The Blumenrain Foundation thus operates as a "group" with various bases at five locations and literally crosses borders. The cantons of Solothurn and Basel-Landschaft are moving closer together in care and support.
